SCOTLAND
Objectives

To support social enterprise development in the Highlands and Islands region of Scotland

To run a series of awareness raising and thematic events across the region to promote social enterprise (including specialist events for social firms and development trusts)

To offer emerging and established social enterprises a bespoke personalised development support package (including learning support) depending on need

To provide training for LEC Business Advisers on supporting social enterprises

To pilot a balanced scorecard social accounting technique with social firms initially and then with the wider social enterprise sector

Delivery Approach

The project is led by Social Firms Scotland on behalf of a partnership comprised the DTA (Scotland), Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Communities Scotland. The work is focused on the Highlands and Islands regions, as existing resources are available to the Social Enterprise Support Agencies to promote activities in the central and lowland Scotland. The Equal funding represents an opportunity to transfer practices and approaches to develop the social enterprise sector in the Highlands and Islands area.
