A large amount of work around the twin themes of business support
and quality will be undertaken at regional level. We have established
regional partnerships in a number of regions/nations. These partnerships
contain representatives from the Co-operative Union, DTA, and
Social Firms UK regional networks, and other strategic partners.
The regional partners
will work with the national projects (for example in piloting
quality tools or training programmes) and will also run a wide
range of projects
depending upon local needs.
The regional partnerships provide a very strong base for the work of the
Social Enterprise Partnership. They will allow us to test our ideas and
to pilot work on the ground. More generally, this project is the first time
that different kinds of social enterprise are being brought together to
work at the regional level across Great Britain. Initial reports from our
regional networks suggest that this is having excellent intangible and unintended
consequences. We believe that the networks formed and the commonalities
discovered as a result of our work will be of great value for the creation
of a healthy and vibrant social enterprise sector going forward.
Some information is available here about activities within the South East
and Eastern regions. In due course, similar levels of information
will be added for all the active regions:
